Smeg Dishwasher door will not open – mechanical issue

Hope somebody can help me!

A couple of weeks ago the door handle to my Smeg dishwasher became a bit ‘unstable’, I think something had come undone inside the mechanism, so today it actually fell apart and fell into the inside of the door. The handle does not now work and I can’t open it.

So I realise that to fit a new part to the door handle I will need to take the door apart but as I can’t get it open, I can’t get to the screws. So I then thought that perhaps I could get to the unlock mechanism by taking the lid off the machine but I can’t see it…..any help out there???

Hi if its like my smeg you should be able to get. The door catch by taking the top off
