ParticipantI have a problem with the above dishwasher. I recently had a flood in the kitchen (nothing to do with the applicance – but it did get soaked) and since then it has showed no signs of life!. It has power & the power light is on (so not fused), but the cycle end light is OFF.
I see that the appliance is fitted with an “AquaStop”, so I deduce that this has activated during the flood and needs re-setting. Does anyone know how to re-set the AquaStop on this machine?
Thank you for your help

Generally, you stop the water, undo the hose connection at the tap, wait a few minutes, reconnect and repressurise. Check the coupling whilst disconnected – one or two have reset buttons.

Hi “Penguin”, Thank you for your reply. I have tried this already, but it has no effect. There is no “re-set” button on the control panel & I cannot see anything that looks like one inside the machine. If there is one, please could you advise the location!
I have read on this forum that other models of SMEG DW have certain key combinations that force a re-set (power off/on press prog 4 times, etc) – is there such a series of key strokes that work on this model?
Is there any thing else that could cause this lack of, well anything, from the machine after a flood. I am sure this is not just a coincedence that the fault occured the same time as the flood. I have inspected all the electrics & there is no evedence of any shorting.
Thank you for your help

Depending on the height of the “flood” it may have got water in to the base tray of the dishwasher, try leaning it to one side and see if any water runs out (towel at the ready).
Further than that, I think you’ll need an engineer to be honest, check the repairs@ link below.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply, I cannot get anyone out until after easter, and then I will be away for a couple of weeks, so this is why I was trying to find how to re-set it myself, so that it would be working while I am away!
I have checked there is no water in the bottom of the machine
If anyone has a method to re-set the AquaStop, or any other suggestions that caould be causing this problem, I would be very greatful!. If I cannot fix it myself I will get someone out after I return, I just wanted to get the machine working for my wife while I am away!
