My SMEG has just gone with a bang! There has been a cracking/knocking noise for the past month or so during the drying cycle. This has got progressively worse until it took out the main circuit breaker. The banging, continued after the washer was turned off, taking the main trip a further 3 times. I’ve had a look and can find nothing obvious. I also resistance tested the heater to earth, and again found nothing. Any ideas-my wife is on my case!!!!!!
