According to Smeg Service, mains filter part number 813410094 has been superceded, requiring wiring modification. This is the slimline suppressor with three wires at the front left of most 4-8 year old Smeg/Diplomat dishwashers. The new part is 813410341, the suppressor with integral connector block found at the back on more recent Smeg dishwashers. I tried to fit one to a DWD61 today, but couldn’t see how to fit the cumbersome new style filter at the front. Has anyone seen a service bulletin on this mod or found a safe way to secure it?

Mains filters. dishwashers would it be feasible not to use a filter as there is nothing in a D/W to cause interference? I cannot see any possible protection for the circuit boards either, unless someone knows different :rolls:

Thanks, maltheviking, there’s probably some truth in that, and this dishwasher doesn’t have a circuit board anyway. However, I thought mains suppressors were legal requirement on all appliances. I guess there would be some interference every time the power switches, albeit short-lived. I’m happy with the wiring connections needed, just need to find a safe place to mount the new one. So if anyone’s done this before, I’d welcome any tips.

I still have the old one in stock so have not yet come across this, but you are right as even MFI list the original as BER. not sure what the outcome is on this. I will contact smeg and tell you what they say. No doubt the dishwasher will be just fine without it for a bit.
