My SMEG double oven occasionally trips out on earth fault during the heatup cycle before cooking. Once reset at the main board it will be ok again for a while.

Could this be a fualt with the element or the termostat systems?

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks for reading this.

Presumably the fan oven element packing in, or possibly the selector switch carbonising. Model number required for more accurate predictions…….

The Smeg model number is SP 9000X the type is A31.

Any other suggestions or some help telling me which to change first switch or element? Could you suggest part numbers for these.

Are they difficult items to change, I’m pretty handy but never worked on a cooker before. Could you discribe how to go about changing, without any responsibility for my actions of course.

I also need a knob for the clock control for this oven. It’s 10mm diameter in grey plastic. any idea of the part number.

Thanks for your help so far.

    best regards,

Element more likely culprit. Have a read of this:
    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ge&pid=103

    Power off when investigating.

    Element is p/no 806890122
    Timer knob is p/no 764972429

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.
