ParticipantHi All,
wonder if someone can help me.
I came to check on dinner to see the bulb had gone out (as my model dosf44x does this more than once in the 3 years weve had it!) Fortunately dinner only had a few mins til finished.
After dinner the wife said the mains has tripped… I turn the coothr RCD back on to see what was up and the main oven was completely dead but the top oven/grill was working fine.
So first thing I did was check the element, wasn’t reading anything on Ohms or continuity so ordered a new one.
Installed, and nothing was the same.
I took the oven apart (turned off power!) and checked the oven temp limiter with multimeter and gave no reading at 200 and 2k settings (by the way I’m no electrician) thought ok maybe it’s broken too. Checked the top oven/grill that works and had same reading! (So maybe i was testing it wrong!?)
Does anyone have any ideas??
Thanks in advance!

Moderatorhave a close look at the selector switch. look for burnt or damaged contacts
the stat you found is most likely for the fan. there is a cutout stat somewhere but you would need to look for it
assume you set the clock if it has one as oven wont go unless you do

ParticipantI have usergoup upload date limit, won’t let me post for some reason.
I think I’ve found the cutoff stat. Reading 0.6ohms same as oven grill stat.
The heat sensing ones? There not showing any readings atall (but the oven grill works)

ParticipantSo the oven has come back to life. Maybe because I unclipped the selector switch and moved some bits around. Time will tell.
Thanks for the replies, will update if something changes
