I have called a plumber out who has checked the pump and filter and checked for kinked pipes and blocked pipes and all is clear. I have reset the programme by turning the machine off and then on again and pressing the button 4 times until the 1st and 5th lights are flashing. I then turn off for 10 seconds and switch on agian and select rinse mode. I press start close the machine and its starts up. After 5 minutes there is a beep but the machine still sounds like its carrying on. I open the door after 20 minutes and there is no water atall, the machine is dry. Please help me solve this without calling SMEG!!!

The reset procedure is only applicable for the E7 fault, and it doesn’t sound like you are completing that procedure properly.

E1 is flood protection activated. LED 1 and LED 5 should be lit – what are you actually getting?

Hi, I get the 1st light flashing and the 5th light just on!

Have you looked in the tray under the machine to see if it’s full of water?

    Hiya

Do you think it could be in need of a replacement timer? Thanks A

This is supposed to be a two way thing – I can’t see your appliance; so the previous question stands. Get the screwdrivers out and have a look!

If I tell you to buy £100 + VAT’s worth of timer and it doesn’t solve the problem, you’re not going to thank me, are you?
