My machine is type 11029 without error codes etc. When door is open there is a plastic slotted screw in top RH corner of ‘body’ around opening. It has numbers 1, 2 & 3 embossed on it, with the 1 lining up with a raised ‘pip’ on the ‘body’. What does this do?

It’ll be to adjust the amount of water running through the softener unit. 1 is a little, 3 is a lot. The harder the water in your area, the higher the setting required.
