Hi, Our dishwasher has started playing up – again. 😡 It has been stopping, the lights go out, then it starts for a second or so and stops and so on. it does this for about 20 or 30 seconds and then carries on. This has been getting progressively worse. There seems to be moisture in the windows of the timer and program controls. Now it has just stopped and there are two dots (or small dashes) in the display. It is now giving off a smell of burnt electrics 😥

It has made some ‘bangs’ or ‘cracks’ that sounded electrical but there was no smell and the machine did not stop – we wondered it that was something else at the time.

I hope that makes sense. My question is, could this be the board, and if it is, is this something I can change and if so also how do I get to it?

    Thanks,
    Ralph.

It could be the board. Cracks and bangs on SMEG machines are often caused by the mains suppressor unit packing up. It’ll either be at the rear of the machine where the cable enters, or a three wire device in the front left corner. I’d start with that first.

Power off before removing any panel.

Re: Smeg DWF 66 – New board?

I have a really simiar issue, my DWF 66 has tripped the main RCD twice now , I have got it running using just the rinse program, run this cycle a few times and then eventually I select the ECO(wash) program and it runs for 2 weeks then trips the main RCD again,

    Any suggestions to the cause?
I would presume the rinse cycle doesnt use the heater?
    😆 😆 😆

    How much for the suppressor?
I am in Glasgow and could nip to the shop to pick up ?

A read of THIS may help – mostly applicable to your machine.

    Suppressor is HERE.

Exeter is a very long way from Glasgow……… 😆
