ParticipantHi, nubie here, interesting site you guys have 🙂
I have done all the searches and read most of the SMEG dishwasher posts, but I think I still need a step for a hint, hopefully you can assist.
The machine is approx 4 years old and has never had an issue before.
The problem is
The washer runs through its cycle (all programmes) but just before the drying cycle starts (3rd led lit) the machine stops, and shows leds 2,3 &4 lit. If you open the machine there is very hot water in it.
If you annul the programme, the machine drains, and resets its-self, you can then start any programme and it work through its cycle until just before the drying cycle starts. My assumptions are …
The pumps are OK as the seem to work
The programmer board is OK – this is positive thinking rather than any techincal opinion
There are no blockages, water drains OK
The problem is heat related as the machine is hot and the water is hot when the cycle stops.Cheers 🙂

It’s not logical – 2, 3 + 4 lit is E7 – flow meter failure. This device is not fitted to your appliance. E7 is also a general failure, so next time you come to use the machine, it should do it straight away once it starts to fill. You could try the re-set procedure (Put ‘SMEG AND reset’ into “Search” – plenty of references), but I doubt it will correct it.
Beyond that, you’ve got me!

Thanks for the prompt reply Penguin45, I’ll dig that out and let you know what the outcome is.
Cheers 🙂

Thanks again Penguin45, your a star. Despite you doubts the reset worked a treat.
The machine has now done several loads on each programme and no repeat of the mid-cycle stop.
I was reluctant to report back too early, but thats 4 days and 1 birthday party’s worth of loads and everything seems OK.
I’ll keep my eye on it and report back in a week or so, but just now all appears well.
Thanks again for the advise 😀

Well, here is the update, I’ve being putting this off for a while in fear I would trigger a “Murray Walker Moment” and hex’d the machine.
The machine has worked without problem since I followed the reset from Penguin45.
Again thanks very much great advice and a great site. 😀
