    Hi all

My DWF409 has started playing up. Sometimes it will run all through a program and sometimes it will stop just after the fill stage. Last night I watched it and when it failed all LEDs inc power went out – dead. Opened and shut the door and it started again.
Again it packed in but this time I banged then pushed against the door handle region. It started again I waited a while and went to bed and in the morning program was completed.

Does this seem like a dooor switch fault ? If so can you recommend the best place for a replacement ?

    Cheers

    Update –

OK checked the door switch (Bitron type S16) and all seems Ok.
Thinking about it also this couldn’t really be causing the power-cut issue as the mains button LED also extinguishes when
the unit was stopping part through a programme. Banging on the
front panel though does ‘bring it back alive’ so a loose connection or dry solder joint somewhere I imagine.

Strange thing is that once it ‘gets going’it’s usually ok until the end of the program..

.. not sure where to look next – the feed to the switch I guess. 😐

I think I isolated the fault to the main plastic encased pcb.
examined it for wobbly joints but nada. Put it back together and now properly nadgered. Not worth a 120 + VAT for new pcb on a ten year machine so ordered a new machine (principally to keep Mrs quiet) – not happy with the outcome but what can one do.. ?
