Hi, I have a problem with the recirculation. pump on my dishwasher. It keeps jamming. I have removed it several times, freed it and replaced it. when it is removed it is seized. a twist with a screwdriver frees it completely. it feels stiffer in one direction than the other at first but them runs smoothly.

I am quite prepared to spend the Β£135 (ish) for a new pump motor. However I am at a loss as to how to strip the white plastic impeller and housing and the β€˜stuff’ at the other end is fitted with some kind of crimped fitting that I am not going to Be able to replace. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the motor and pump assembly as removed from the machine if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Ralph.

Re: Smeg DWF66 Recirculation pump question

The motor and pump assy come as one part when you order the motor, all that needs to be removed is the clamp holding the hose to the inlet still attached in the photo.

You can replace it with a jubilee type clip, although a narrower one than normal by the look of it, car DIY stores should have them.

The motor/pump is Β£101.44 ex VAT and carriage which I can supply if required, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk πŸ™‚

Re: Smeg DWF66 Recirculation pump question

Thanks Dave, Now I know I can split the – water sensor? – from the motor/pump I was off. the impeller unscrews from the induction motor armature shaft. Spliting the motor, I could drift out the damaged bearing and guess what – I had a spare one (22/8mm) in the workshop – not bad for a woodwork shop!

    Here’s the old one:

The bearing is in that condition because of the leak from the pump centre seal. It will run for a while, but the same will happen again.

You can’t replace the seal, the pump is a sealed unit πŸ˜‰

Pump part on it’s own is around Β£35 ex VAT and carriage, same contact details as previous πŸ™‚
