ParticipantI have a Smeg DWI 410 which this morning was full of water – seemingly not having finished the cycle. After having sucked the visible water out, I now find that there are no lights illuminated – but there is power, as the salt level and rinse aid level lights were lit (until they were topped up). The fuse has been changed in any case.
This does not seem to correspond to any previous post on here. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have tried doing the reset sequence, but no lights become illuminated while doing that.
Many thanks in advance…..

You probably need to drain the tray under the the machine as well – there is a flood protection system in there. If it resets, the lights may come back on.
Try that first and report back.
Power off first, please.

Thanks for the reply.
We have now removed the filter and its tray, and sucked out the water from under there – I’m not sure if that is what is meant by the tray under the machine?
Anyway, this has not made any difference.

No. You’ve drained the cavity (the “wash box”). Under the machine at floor level there is a tray which closes the underside of the machine. It contains a flood protection device. If water gets into that tray, it shuts of the programme, although it would normally throw up an error code on the lights. Still, easy to check and eliminate from the list of suspects.
THIS ARTICLE is worth a read – SMEG machines do not always follow conventional logic when it comes to problem solving.

OK. We may be being a bit thick here, but we have pulled out the machine and removed all screws we can find and have not located the tray under the machine. I can see what is underneath the wash cavity though, and can see the blower for the drying, some cables, etc – but no tray. Is it possible this model has no tray?
