Smeg DWI 64 Detergent Dispenser

Hi,

I just fitted a new detergent dispenser for my Smeg dishwasher as the solenoid no longer opened the detergent door during the wash.

Now when as soon as I switch the machine on, the solenoid ‘activates’ immediately, opening the detergent door. It won’t ‘deactivate’ at all.

Does this mean that I have a duff PCB? Symptoms before I replaced the solenoid were that it suddenly one day stopped opening – so I assumed the solenoid was gone – if I reattach the old solenoid, then it does nothing at all.

It does sound as if the solenoid on the old dispenser has damaged the PCB to be honest 🙁

At this stage I would ask an engineer to come and check though as the PCB is expensive and a misdiagnosis could prove rather costly 😉
