ParticipantHi,
As in my post here :-http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ic&t=13655
my impellor is broken and was no longer attached to the pump shaft.
I ordered my part and it arrived today 🙂 I just went out to workshop to fit it to the pump. I thought it would be a case of screwing the threaded pump spindle up into a thread in the impellor housing. The impellor housing isnt threaded though!
Do I need to tap the impellor housing, just create a thread my screwing the spindle into the housing plastic, something else? Can anyone advise please?
Many thanks
Ant

Normally the thread is recessed in the moulding. Check very carefully the thread on the shaft – a lot are left handed.

Penguin45.Thank you for the reply.
There is honestly no thread in the moulding, it is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} smooth. A left hand thread I can handle, but being smooth I wasnt sure what to do next!

😯
I would say almost without doubt that it should be. It is possible that it wasn’t threaded correctly at the factory but very rare.
Let me know please 🙂

Hangs head 😯
OK so there was a very fine thread towards the end that I couldnt originally see – put it under the inspection lamp and I could see it!
Thank you for the support, Ill go back and stand in the corner now 🙂

Dave,
Yes once again machine is working like a dream – again thank you for everything 🙂 I also took the time to fabricate a bracket to position and hold the rear leg winder in place – the result is the rear leg works again now which is just soooooo much easier than jamming wood at the back of the machine 😀Many thanks
