ParticipantHi folks,
My integrated Smeg DW has stopped functioning correctly and for the 2nd time has a problem with the main (is this the outlet ?) pump. Basically attached to the end of the motor (via 2 screws) is a white housing containing the impellor blade. This is no longer attached to the main shaft of the motor and is the 2nd time this has happened now 🙁 So the machine tries to empty but doesnt as the motor is spinning with no pumping action. The first time I had an engineer replace this but the bill was **massive** and he replaced the whole motor unit as well. Having dismantled it I can see the shaft in the motor that engages the impellor is threaded and I assume it should be attached via this thread to what is left in the rear of the impellor blade?
Smeg dont seem keen to talk to me because Im not trade (I am very capable with engineering etc 🙂 ) – does anyone know if I can purchase just a new impellor housing to attach to the motor? I would machine a new insert for the rear of the impellor but the unit appears to be factory sealed and not serviceable.
Any advice would be a great help…..
Rgds and thanks

Actually Ive just checked my assembly and the impellor housing appears to be :-
1) In a different orientation to the one shown in the previous link
2) The main central pipe connector on mine is longer
I believe when the engineer first replaced this when broken he had to come back for exactly this reason. Is there another part I should be looking at?
Many thanks for all the help

The hose is still connected in the other photo making it appear shorter 😉
Also, yours has the newer version fitted (note the two holes where it’s fixed to the motor), Smeg have superseded the part number which is the one you have in your picture so the part number is correct 😀

Ah ok sorry, I dont mean the piece with the hose attached I mean the central piece.
Just so Im clear, I have the newer item with the longer central connector as shown in my picture? If I order the part number given I will receive this new piece and it will be the housing as shown in my link?
Many thanks 🙂
