ParticipantHave had this machine for a couple of years and this week the Soap Dispenser has refused to open. Everything else appears to be working fine.
I have read through the forums here and seen that in most cases a complete new dispenser is required to fix this problem. Before going ahead and buying one I have a few questions:
1. Is there anything else I should try to sort this, prior to buying a new dispenser unit?
2. Is there a supplier on the Forum? – I am in St Albans, Herts. (Best price I have found on web is £42.76)
3. Am I going to be able to fit this myself given that I am reasonably proficient in most things of this nature – and if I run into problems is there anyone who is prepared to help?
Thanks in advance for any advice :~)

Hi Alex,
The dispenser will have failed for one of two reasons:1) The actuator solenoid will have failed, ie no circuit through it.
2) The actuator solenoid is not receiving power. If 1), you need a dispenser – p/no 812890061, about £35 plus the usual from memory – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk quoting part number for confirmed prices and ordering
If 2) you probably have a computer fault and it will be worth getting pro help as this is an expensive component.
In theory fitting the dispenser is a screwdriver job, be very careful of the door edges though as you can shave with them.
Power off if investigating further.

ok..continuing woes…
(Superb spares service by the way – thanks!)
Fitted the new dispenser without problems – noticed on the old dispenser solenoid evidence of overheating/small burn mark near one of the terminals.
First cycle the new dispenser appeared to have opened properly – all subsequent cycles the dispenser has not opened and we appear to be back to square one :~(
Have checked the solenoid in the new dispenser – its NOT open circuit as was the old one ( around 1000ohms metered). Looks like a fault further back down the line.
Would appreciate any observations/advice before heading down the new pcb route?
Thanks in advance
Alex

I fear the “fried” solenoid may have damaged the control PCB 🙁
Hopefully not but it may be worth at this stage asking an engineer to take a look unless there are obvious signs of damage to the PCB.
Part number 696290685 at £circa £150 😯
Dave.
