KeymasterHello,
Make : SMEG
Model : DWI 710
Serial : N/AI am receving an ‘E1’ error code on the panel lights. The manual states that:
“The anti-flooding signal has been tripped (for models fitted with AQUASTOP device only).
This alarm is only tripped if water leaks from the dish washer.”
I have checked the machine over and there doesn’t appear to be any water leakage. Is there any way I can reset the AQUA stop ?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Best Regards

KeymasterThat is indeed the correct definition for that fault code, but there are five other possible faults that can also throw it up, for starters. 😕
If you’ve been in the base then try seeing if the float is operating correctly, if it is and there’s no obvious leak then investigate the float switch itself to ensure that has not gone faulty.
If all the above fails to resolve it then it’s time for a capable engineer really as it may be a PCB fault.

KeymasterRe: SMEG DWI 710 DishWasher Error – Continued
Hi, I have removed the front cover from the base – How can I check to see if the base is working correctly ?

KeymasterAndy, to be honest if you’re getting stuck at that stage then it would be unwise for you to continue and whatever you do remove mains power from the appliance before opening it up!
For legal reasons (blame the EU) we cannot offer you a blow-by-blow account of how to carry out a repair and we have to assume a certain competance. If you are unable to identify the flaot switch then really there’s no point in going any further as you will be lost with some of the stuff we’d tell you to do.
A simple PCB reset will most likely not clear it but you can try by removing power, open the door, switch on and within three seconds press the program button four times. The two outer lights should illuminate for the soak and and strong programms. Press the program button again once and the strong light should be lit. Do not close the door after about 15 seconds switch the appliance off, then power on and test on a soak program to see if it works.
If it doesn’t, it’s time for an engineer in all honesty.
Good luck.

Hi K,
I understand the EU thing – I checked the float and it seemed fine.
I followed the intstruction for the PCB reset but on pressing the program button 4 times (with my fingers crossed) only the ‘strong’ light came on flashing.
Standing on one foot I pressed the prog button again and waited 15 seconds turned off the appliance and turned it on again.
I selected the SOAK programme as instructed and then close the door. I received the usual 2 beeps and nothing happened.
I’ve called out ‘Academy’ (I’m in London) who shold hopefully show up on Monday. It isn’t the first time the PCB has gone on me . Our old machine (same model) had exactly the same problem)
Thanks very much for your help.

KeymasterIf only the strong light came on then it’s not reset properly, I’d try it again and see if it resets the way I described. If not it may well be that the PCB timer is goosed. 🙁
If you get Academy in can you tell them about the site please. 😉

KeymasterRe: SMEG DWI 710 DishWasher Error
Ken,
Thanks a bunch for the help.
I just couldn’t get the light array your PCB reset suggested. I closed the door the ‘Strong’ program started up (Great!) but after 2 minutes it stopped and then went ito a ‘Beep’ ‘Swoosh’ pattern.
Now all I get is the ‘Wine Glass’ light on and the Strong light Flashing.
From that it doesn’t move, even if I switch it on and off. I think it could have booked a ticketed to Planet Shafted!
