This is what the manual says for E2 error:
Water level incorrect
Fault:The electronics have sensed a โtimed outโ situation.
Water levels inside the dishwasher have failed to make the required level, in the time allowed.
Possible siphoning
Cause:1. Water supply has been turned off, supply hose has been restricted by another appliance.
2. No supply from tap (faulty plumbing). Waste hose too low allowing water to flow down the drain.
3. Has (plumbing or central heating) work been done that could have altered the settings of the appliance?
But with E2 it’s just as likely to be an internal leak or, most likely, a blockage somewhere.Checking for crud in the sink waste trap would be a good place to start ๐

KeymasterSesamy,
Check the side chamber, pound to a penny it’s blocked. Or the flap valve thingin the sump, they block as well and cause the fault as Mark told me although I’ve not seen that one.

How do you reset the fault or does it come ok once the level is resumed?

You could try resetting it:
Open the door with the power switch off. Switch on and press the start/pause button 4 times within 3 seconds, power off.
You never know ๐

You need to press the button one final time to bring the board back out of the test phase. There should be a pause between this last button press and the initial four (both end lights should be flashing at this point ๐ ).

O.K thank you chaps, got it to reset, also got a bit of string used to tie beef stuck in pump, this got down because filter is damaged, seems to have two burns on it where it fell onto heater (obviously was left out by mistake some time). The machine did its cycle o.k but when it had finished pumping out there is a distinctive “glug glug” sound from machine. Also outlet pipes seems to vibrate. Is this syphoning? Outlet pipe is connected to trap under sink & there is a loop up above where it attaches! No blockages found in trap or pipe.

ModeratorThat glug glug is pretty normal despite a flap valve in the pump, wouldnt worry about it as long as the water stays around the height of the pressure chamber flap when empty.
