Smeg DWI 710E – First LED flashing

I have a Smeg DWI 710E dishwasher. When I turn the power on, the first LED flashes and after about 5 seconds the machine beeps a couple of times.

It won’t actually do anything – the program select button has no effect. Shutting the door does nothing (i.e. the first program cycle doesn’t start).

This isn’t listed as an error code in the manual, so it’s hard to know what’s wrong. I did lift up the silver panel at the bottom of the dishwasher (inside) and noticed there was some water in there – is it having a problem draining, perhaps?

Not exactly not draining, the flood protection system has been activated. The undertray of the machine needs to be drained and the leak located.
