ParticipantCan you help with a probelm on my SMEG Dishwasher Model DWI410 (Type 12150) [Built in under worksurface slimline, fitted with Aquastop].
It had been running a washing program while I was out. On arrival home I noticed water dripping from the bottom of the machine, I opened the door and floods of water poured out. The whole tank must have been full of water judging by the amount I let out (in stages).
I have dried the machine out and checked the filter is clear, the drain pump is working, the water matrix and transfer pipe is clear, the main motor is working etc.
When you switch on the machine now the 4th program light is contsant and the 5th is flashing (this suggests to me error 16??) and is not in the book. When the door is closed, water starts to enter the machine and keeps on running, if allowed it would fill the tank again!
The flood protection switch in the bottom tray is working when tested with a meter.
Have you any ideas what the problem could be?
Cheers

If the flood protection system is not shutting off the valve, it would suggest a problem with the computer board. The LED combination is not a recognised code either – again this points to a computer board problem.

Penguin45 – Thanks for your reply, it got me thinking that I hadn’t tested wether the antiflood switch actually stopped the water, I only tested it on the meter.
I switched on the machine again and it flashed the lights as before. When I closed the door water started to enter as before, so I depressed the antiflood switch and the drain pump kicked in and pumped until the water was gone.
The error lights have gone now and the program switch can now change programs, so it seems back to normal. Perhaps this has completed a cycle properly and cleared the error, fingers crossed.I will try to do a proper wash soon and let you know how I get on.
Cheers
