ParticipantHi all and thanks in advance for any help.
My Smeg DWI410 slimline dishwasher is around 5 years old and has developed a fault that happens near the end of the cycle – I have just timed it as around 90 minutes in, so must be near the end. However it does not come up with an error message.
Symptoms: the machine operates fine for the start, but at a certain point it beeps once, and the machine sounds like it tries to do something and then less than a second later stops, and another beep occurs. It then waits about 10 seconds and tries again, to the same result. This goes on and on indefinitely.
If I open the dishwasher at that point, it is hot and full of water. I can make it drain by turning it off, opening door, selecting a different programme, turning it on again and closing door – it will then drain the water in the machine as the first part of the new cycle. This makes me think it is draining fine, and the problem is something else. However the problem is so close to the end of the cycle I suspect it is trying to drain the water and then dry the dishes.
I have tried topping up salt and ri se-aid levels, and have also checked the outlet hose for blockages and kinks – none of these have affected the problem.
Any suggestions?
many thanks
Ben

Bump – anyone got any thoughts as to what the problem might be here?
I’m getting to the point where I’m just going to have to sling it out and buy a new one

Ben,
Sad to say that responses here are few and far between..
I once had an issue of a cocktail stick stuck in a pump impellor which caused a similar fault – wouldn’t drain- but yours sounds more like a controller issue – maybe. Just decided to sling my 10 year old slimline for this reason.
See above..Good luck
