Customer with Smeg dishwasher DWI612C sticking on wash. No error codes, runs for about 1 min then there is a click from PCB and it stops for about 5 seconds, there is a bleep then runs for another minute. It keeps doing this all day. Checked heater, NTC, p/switch, dispenser etc nothing obvious. It will cancel, drain and finish OK, if I select another programme it starts OK then sticks again. I suspect PCB but any ideas would be appreciated.

Other than an intermittent dispenser or earthing heater my money would be on the pcb i’m afraid 😕

Useully the heater relay on the PCB is NOT switching !
if you link together the two power output termials on the PCB relay when the DW starts beeping this will prove the relay is NOT switching, by letting the DW heat up, this can NOT be done at the begining of the cycle otherwise this will indicate another fault.

Then test the relay and the transistor to switch the coil of the relay !! I think it gets switched from PIN 3 on the IC programable device if you getting no switching voltage to the BASE of the transistor its the IC.
Also check the power diodes these usually get HOT and can also be at fault, look for obvious scorch marks on the PCB.

    Hope this helps !!

Many thanks guys.. I was pretty thorough with testing heater and dispenser from previous experience. I will call back and try to prove the relay theory but It looks like a new machine as PCB is very pricey.
