Hello I am desperate for advice, and having had a look on here I feel that you guys may be able to help me. Sorry it’s a bit long….

The other morning, in my haste to get out the door quickly and another load in my dishwasher, i interrupted the program with 10 minutes to go, emptied it, reloaded it and pressed the program button to put it on another program (as this one had not ended). The program button (first one in from the left) was not doing anything, no beeps, nothing so I pressed the second one in which is apparently the delayed start button and it just sat at “18” (I am presuming minutes?) and I was unable to press any other buttons. I waited, for half a day as I thought the delayed start would clear but no, it was still on 18 last night with no action from the machine, no noises or anything.

I then read through here and managed to press the start button 4 times before the led came on when switching on the machine. This put it into “C” mode and it is now stuck on “C8”, when put in this, the machine drains and nothing much else happens, apart from a faint humming like it is on. I have managed to get it onto C0 and C2 with random pressing (tut, tut, yes I know but I’m a girl….) and when I do get it into these modes I AM able to press the last button which is the half load.

here are the layout of the buttons…

    Prog…….Time delay…..Economy…..Eco dry……..half load..

Does anyone have any advice on how I can clear it from this mode and have get the thing to work?

    TIA 😆

I’ve never heard of a C code an a Smeg dishwasher being displayed 😕

I’ll see what I can find out though 😉

This might be some factory test sequence, for use during manfacture…

Indeed it is (sort of), a nice chap from Servevast helped me out… 🙂

Not just for factory, it’s for engineers also. Basically you’ve managed to start the test cycle. This is the important bit though:

    a. the test cycle, when selected, has to be finished. If power is interrupted, the programme has to restart from the point it was interrupted.

So basically let it carry on until completion and it should then be fine to use as normal 😀

Yes, and I interrupted it again 🙁
it is now on C1 and when I shut the door nothing at all happens, I did leave it alone after the C8 issue and it did not reset itself.
I’ll have to try again now to get it onto C2 to see if the thing starts then.

Thanks very much indeed for your help. I will update if I fix it for future reference points if any other owners come across it.

Re: Smeg DWI614 in “C” mode

Hiya, I’ve managed to get it going with the delayed timer starting, now it is back onto P0, usually at this stage can press the program buttom several times until I reach the desired one. Today I cannot do that, on pressing nothig happens.

I am sure this is me just mucking up the programs etc….does anyone know of a reset code for the DWI614.

I can press the delayed start button now but it only shows the number 17 and I cannot budge it, this is because this is not the delayed start as there is no clock flashing on the led, it s justshowing 17, whether that i minutes or a number I don’t know….

So I have it out of c mode now and i just need it to start…

    ALL help is appreciated…..

    Try this:

Make sure the machine is switched off from the on/off switch on the control panel. Close the door. Open the door and switch on the machine using the on/off switch and within 3 seconds press the programme button 4 times then switch the machine off again.

    That should reset it.

Hi, I’ve got the same issue, tried all sorts but the machine control panel shows either “F1” or “C1”. Also tried the reset as mentioned by Dave, but can’t get it to reset. HELP!!! Thanks in advance. Tanky.

Re: Smeg DWI614 in “C” mode

You are in the test mode – you need to allow the test sequence to run through. The machine will stop and beep at C6 an C9 – in both instances, open the door and press the programme button once to continue. When finished, F1 will show in the display. Then carry out the reset procedure to resume normal programming.
