ModeratorCustomer says it heats sometimes but not others, either way he says that it switches program in mid flow.
I do know the heater relays can go on these but is he just seeing an error code?

have you asked him what happens when it switches. if it switches and prog end shortly after that (ie pumps out and stops) I would assume error code
as for heater relays don’t rule out failure but also think about power supply problems (ie if voltage is low it may not be able to pull relay in sometimes )
hope it helps

He rang back last night to say it had been on for over two hours and was still stuck on the programme, water was lukewarm. Its quite near to me so going to go and have a closer look.

Confusing….just spoken to him on the phone to arrange a visit and he said that he had it in today and it appeared to heat OK but then stopped with 1st light flashing, according to the bumf I have that is an aquastop fault (if fitted) what if it isn’t fitted?
Going on Monday either way. 🙂

Last time I did one (they are not common round here) it suddenly decided it had a flow meter fitted when it hadn’t and started to do strange things till I told it that it didn’t have a flow meter. From memory there is a way of coding the board to tell it if it is a version with or without a flow meter – can’t find it at the moment but will dig in the vehicle for it tomorrow if necessary.
