need advise on replacing the oven door hinges.
i ordered the replacement ones..SMEG PART NO, 931330532.
they don’t look anything like the originals.
    1) the originals are screwed to the chassis and fit into the door…the hinges have to be removed from the door before they can be changed WHERE DO I START TO DISMANTLE THE DOOR???.
2)if the ones i have been sent are correct they must be
screwed to the door NOT the chassis(there is NO fixing plate)
so the two screwholes are left empty. so the repair will look aweful. i am used to the hole in the chassis which takes the hinges to have a strengthening plate to prevent the hinges sawing
through the chassis…this would not be the case if i use
    the replacements.
    any experince of this problem?
    thanks

who gave you that part number? its wrong. You need 931330815.

They do not “screw to the chassis” though. They do fit into the door and yes the door needs to be dissmantled to do so.
Whats more, you will need the hinge locking pins (supplied to customer when new) to lock the old hinges and again to refit the new ones, these springs are nasty! They must be handled with respect and compressing the new ones is a nightmare.

thanks, looks like rock and hard place kind of job.. the part number was on the package holding the hinges and when i checked with my reliable parts supplier he said that he had checked with SMEG and that was the only part number available for hinges for this appliance. can i take it that without the locking pins the jobs cannot safely be done? should i pass the customer onto SMEG?
