We have been looking for a retro style freezer to go with our new kitchen. The look of the Smeg Fab 32 is great but there do seem to be a lot of people who are not satisfied with how well it performs. Ideally we would like a bit more space for the fresh foods than the freezer area although 50/50 would be ok. Is the Smeg Fab 32 as bad as it would appear from my research? Any suggestions for alternatives that perform well? Many thanks.

Hi there. The smeg fab is joint produced between smeg and gorenje. Gorenje produce the unit and smeg produce the plastic covering ie the retro part. It’s around 400 cheaper from gorenje. Although it’s the exact same appliance 🙂 they suffer from door failure but personally it’s because people overload them. All in all a good buy.
