Hi, I would welcome any advice in diagnosing and repairing my smeg fan oven, model SP9000X/1

When turned on, the fan and light work as normal but the heat is unreliable – sometimes there is no heat, sometimes just a little, and sometimes it works correctly. Is is the thermostat or something else, and is it something I can order from here and repair myself.

    Thank you.

    hi

is this a problem with the main oven or the small oven ?

most probable cause is either a faulty selector switch or thermostat as its intermitent then it would be best to get an engineer to look at it.

Thank you for your advice. It is the main oven that has the problem – the small oven and the grills in both ovens are still working correctly. Does this change what the fault could be and your suggestion of calling an engineer?

    Thank you.

Yes, I’d go along with Bryan on that, selector or thermostat normally.

You should find an engineer by following the repairs@ link below 🙂
