smeg fan oven – no heat when using oven only

my smeg oven has stopped working heating up.

the grill still works fine and the fan runs when the oven is on but it doesnt heat up when used as an oven… im hoping this is an easy(ish) fix and something i can do myself.. any help out there?

im trying to dig out the manaul so i can get my details of the specs but it has nothing else written on it except ‘smeg’ – its an inbuilt oven, white and probably ten years old…

Fan element most likely culprit, have a read of this:

Model number may on a label on the top of the oven – you will need it if a part is required.

Power off, if going in……..

thats good info… im toying with the idea of trying to fix this myself… any thoughts?

when you say the label on the “top of oven” do you mean inside the oven or the outside..? if you mean outside, that is hidden by the worktop it is built into and the 4 piece electric hob built into that worktop…

the search for the manual or instructions continues!

It’s usually just a screwdriver job – rear inner panel should remove to reveal element. SMEG usually retains the element from the rear, so the unit will probably have to come out anyway.

And yes, the label will be on the top or rear.

i think ive found the model number.. a sliver sticker on the iside of the door frame… does this make any model number sense…?
