ParticipantWould anyone have any info on this microwave please.
The door switch module has blown (the centre microswitch and the fuse). Everything else appears ok but I don’t want the £100+ replacement to end up the same way. I’m assuming that the switch has failed in some way (Condensation maybe or door slamming!?) but a circuit diagram would be most useful to see how this happened.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Graham

on most microwaves the centre switch is a safety device that creates a short circuit if the top micro sticks closed
can be caused by grease or switch failureif top switch engages before middle switch has switched then it causes a short circuit and blows the fuse
ie if you open door top switch is slow to react due to grease middle switch closes and pop fuse blowshope this helps

I think this may be the same microwave as I have worked on. It is available from loads of manufacturers (electrolux, AEG to name 2).
Has the door lock module blown or overheated.Usually the area around the microswtch legs is Burnt away. dry solder joint but like the worst you have ever seen?
If it is then I have changed quite a few for this reason.
Masterpart (if you deal with them) list it as part number 76X7995 for about £30 + vat I think.Good luck

Thanks Dave and Dave for your replies.
Davecas your analysis seems to be spot on. The board does appear to have shorted between the two legs of the center microswitch. So just a local problem on the board I guess.
I don’t deal with Masterpart and a Google search didn’t offer a number for them.
Can you or anyone help?
Thanks again

72X0267 changes part number to 76X7995, Ive only ever seen the type with the mains input connections at the bottom of the board.
