ModeratorI guess all SMeg agents have recieved this bizzare letter regarding D&G and Homeserve. Dont know what to make of it, will it mean Homeserve agents carrying out the work? Any agent currently invoicing D&G direct for Smeg work can no longer do so and a £48 parts upwards authorisation required and as for the “completed call rate including parts” I cannot see that working out given the erratic nature of their parts pricing.
Always found Smeg/servevast work the most easy going and hassle free SP around and wondering now if that is about to change.November 7, 2008 at 10:27 am #267708Alex

I shall be carrying on with invoicing D&G direct until the contract finally dies. I’m on an EDI system, and it works a treat with no interruptions and full payment @ D&G rates. There is no way I’m allowing S/Vast to take a huge chunk from a service call.
Regards Homeserve, we shall see. I don’t have the relationship I enjoy with D&G and will watch the account closely. Therefore I shall have to accept the interference of S/Vast. If I find it is a going to be loser, I shall refuse the calls.

KeymasterI haven’t gotten the letter but I’ve not really been bothering with Servevast as they’ve gotten way too needy of late with call updates and the likes.
For the rate they pay, vast range, expensive parts to hold and inevitable double visits due to that, it’s just not worth it.
I think DAG have a deal with Homeserve to do the whites and perhaps browns as well.

Think the Current deal on Homeserve is with Connect. They were looking to take over D&G at one stage, but it fell through.

ParticipantCONFIDENTIAL __ Spoke to Dean yesterday, It appears Smeg were blinded by Homeserves offer/sales figures, Dean tried to argue it but Smeg wouldn’t shift, so servast have had to go with it, to stop Homeserve getting in thru the backdoor. Agents are not affected by the fixed price, but from the 1st of this month it is a different deal with D&G ? Me and Alex know how D&G behave with the manufacturers, so it doesnt surprise me Homeserve are the same. Who will be the strongest if the future Homeserve or D&G ?

Just had our spares discount knocked down from 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. They say its across the board, same for everyone, Is that true?
Price increase also from Feb 1st…..expected that one and must admit they dont raise their prices yearly, or even more frequntly, as everyone else seems to do.February 13, 2009 at 10:20 pm #267714Lawrence

I think they’re pretty square with us now but then the work evaporated after I told Sue Cherry that I wasn’t doing the update thing all the time as they expected.
TBH I’ve not missed it. The range was too big so a low first fix rate and there was too much admin to it for my liking.

Yep, they missed December altogether, paid some in Jan but nothing arrived this month yet. Have some dating back to November still outstanding.

Yeah, the “pay on statement” cr4p always annoyed me as well, forgot that. You always had to chase payment.
Dunno what they owe but I’m gonna chase it now as I had heard a few murmurs so I ain’t taking chances in the current climate.

K.What update thing?
All we do is carry out the work & send one of our invoices, we don’t even fault code them. They did mention fault codes, so I asked for an extra £4 per call. Funny that idea evaporated.
They haven’t put their money up for 3 years, so perhaps we should be looking to see if we are all “Enjoying” the same rate in my case being @£40 across the board.
Like Phil they are paid up to Jan 1st

Alex, you know your discount has been reduced to 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}?
We are on £40 a job and it might please you to know we have only recently been upped to that rate.
The smeg spares web site is a pain though as customers are telling me what prices I should be charging for spares on chargeable jobs. I no longer quote part numbers on customers reciepts for that reason. Must admit though I am getting a fair bit of chargeable work from them so not going to rock the boat yet.and yes Ken, What update are you talking about?
