Smeg Identification help needed

Hi
first post here and I am needing some advice please.

I have a Smeg (90cm) 5 burner gas hob with single electric oven. The fan element had died some time ago. The top grill / oven element went this weekend.
Looked for Model part number – but the label is on the bottom of the warming compartment below the oven and the text has been worn away. Called local Smeg dealers in Northern Ireland who quote £80 plus VAT plus parts for call out BUT only if I can identify appliance.
Pulled out the free standing unit and removed back protective cover to check if there was an ID at back – there wasn’t. Removed the failed elements to see if there was any ID’s on them.

Any suggestions as to next steps.
fan element is 2200W with Corel RC01V and 12 97 918 230V 22000W on the plate (Italian website found)
Grill / top element has IRCA 10 97 034 stamped on plate

Without any model numbers it is nigh on impossible.

If you can post up a few good quality pictures one or two of the resident Smeg experts ‘may’ be able to have a stab at it.

Managed to get some info from label. As best as I can read its a Smeg A1 Tipo 287 S/N 048 ?544

Replaced the fan element only – no heat output – fan not rotating
Received top/grill element and checked resistance with older unit to discover that they are same – I had performed continuity test previously and thought one of the elements was blown.

DO all element need to be installed for unit to work or is it possible my “switching unit” is dead?

Check in order…

Overheat thermostat, selector switch, clock/timer, cooling fan (outside chance).

It should fire up the fan, lights etc even with a dead element or two.

The cooling fan (the one below the hob but above the oven)is working.
The clock / timer is working.

For the overheat thermostat is there a simple check to confirm is ok / dead?
The selector switch felt a bit different the last time i used the oven – not a crispy click as normal but a little squeshie (sorry about description). Its now clicking as it should….

Given that the oven fan does not come on when selected and none of the heating elements heat I am guessing that the selector switch is dead or one of the thermostats has blown.

Is it possible online to get the wiring diagram for the switch selector?

Most probably correct.

You just need to see which one is the problem.

In order to access the selector switch does the hob lift up or do you have to go in from the back of the cooker?

Hi Just a quick note in order to close this thread out.

I got a selector switch from ServeVast, persuaded my friendly electrician to fit it (just in case it wasn’t the switch and might have been a thermostat). He was able to access the wiring to the switch terminals from behind. Replacing selector switch got the oven up and running again. The terminals at each corner showed obvious signs of distress.

Xmas turkey here I come.
Cooker still needs a few things but now that i know its an A1 tipo 287 or 2B& I am much more confident in getting the correct parts myself.
