Smeg Oven 490-x8 Err 1 Issue

Dear good folks at white goods forum

I have a smeg oven that is stuck in err 1. When I turn on the oven (from breaker) the cooling fan turns on and after a few seconds the LCD displays Err 1. The cooling fan turns off after a couple of minutes. I have tried turning on/off the oven a couple of times however every time I get the same error. Can some one please let me know what does this error code means? and where can I start to trouble shoot.

Can you give us the full model number from the rating plate?

Lawrence or someone might know without it but I don’t.

I don’t have access to the technical documentation for that oven but, given it’s a pyro oven, my best guess would be that it’s a door lock related error.

That is a guess though.

Closing the loop. A technician from smeg visited today and err 1 is indication of the temperature probe fault. Once the probe was replaced oven is back to normal.
