Can anyone tell me where I can get a technical manual for my SMEG oven, I have a problem which I cannot understand.

    Basically

Oven eventually gets to high temperature after an hour, both top and bottom elements are hot.

The Grill element remains luke warm , forever

The cooling fan which normally runs for 20 or so minutes after oven is switched off, remains running forever.

The initial syptom was no power to the oven, fault traced to blown fuse in plug top, replaced and power was back. but the above problems were the result.

    Confused
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hiya,

That’ll be something like SUK60MFX1 I think but I can’t see that model listed. 😕

There are no technical manuals available, sorry, we don’t even get them!

Overheating is most likely the thermostat faulty.

Grill element may have failed and the cooling fan should be controlled by a little module or thermostat which has likely died.

There are other things that could cause it, like the commutator switch being frazzled, but I’d think not given the symptoms.

    Hope that helps.

    K.

Sounds like your fan element may have blown, Jim. hence, if you are using the setting with all the elements on, the top and bottom elements are doing all the work hence the long heat up time. Try on fan oven setting only, usually shown on the swtich as a fan with a black circle around it, see if there is any heat at all. Your local, friendly Smeg agent will be able to sort you out, post up your postcode.
