ParticipantThe fan element on this oven does not work, the element reads ok and the toc is ok too! So i’m thinking it’s the power module but would like someone who has seen this before just to comfirm as it’s very expensive ?
Thanks

good call, may be in SHOW mode, do the words “sho” on the clock?
If so consult the instruction book to turn off show mode (too complicated to explain here).November 23, 2016 at 1:05 pm #443059senseib

No nothing like that, when the control is set to the fan element symbol the digital display shows 160oc but there is no power to the fan element, so it never gets there!

well if its an electronic board there will be a relay on the board that controls the element. if you find this relay and measure the coil voltage to see if its energised.
if its gone should be easy to get

is the grill working? fan?
Beware if ordering new power pcb, there are 2 types and the serial numbers are not reliable to ID. IIRC one has black relay’s while the other is white. Might be able to help you out with a cheap new board if it is one of them as I think I have, cannot remember which at the moment but will look for it.

Hi yes the grill is working – I think the part number of the module is 691650850 and it looks similar to this: https://www.semboutique.com/14057-modul … -puissance
only the two white relays near the connector block are black !
Printed on the original module is CIG09005November 25, 2016 at 8:06 am #443063eastlmark

Thanks eastlmark for your help. I go on the Servevast direct website and the only module (no picture) listed for that model number comes up ser00032999 but the price of that one is £129.00 so i’m thinking that’s the wrong module and I need the other one ?
The trouble is the serial number has been rubbed off the oven and all I have to go on is what the module looks like, do you know the correct module number they go by at servevast as I don’t want to order the wrong one ?

That is a nightmare, Mark’s right on that.
The early board is part number 691651103 and is showing nil stock at Smeg but can be gotten, list about £135.
The later board is part number 691651338 and shows nil stock everywhere.
And has this helpful note on it from Smeg…
INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW ELECTRONIC FOR THE COMPONENT UPDATING AND STANDARDIZATION. AS A CONSEQUENCE THE LISTED PARTS HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO ADAPT THEM TO THE NEW CONFIGURATION ( REFER TO THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR THE RELATED UPDATED ELECTRONIC SPECIFICATIONS)
IT’S NOT POSSIBLE TO APPLY THE NEW ELECTRONIC ON THE PRE-MODIFICATION APPLIANCES, AS IT’S NOT SUITABLE FOR THE OLD WIRING LOOM.
