Hi I have a Smeg dishwasher which has a problem and I’m hoping you can help. Program starts fine and water is flowing no problem. Program is constantly interrupted and machine beeps every few seconds and program never completes. I called an engineer and £87 call out fee later he says all seems to be fine so it must be the pcb and quoted £141 + VAT for a new one. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this without paying so much? Is the pcb fixable? Thanks
sounds like a power supply problem to the board not a job you can do unless you are into electronics but if you can find an engineer who subscibes to this board one of us can talk him through it
the fault presents like low batterys. it has power to do small thing but as soon as something bigger is needed like starting the main pump motor the computer on the board crashes
bear in mind i am only guessing without seeing the fault for myself
Thanks Dave I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Thing is the machine will run through most of the program. The water flows and is heated etc It just wont get to the end and keeps beeping all the time. I’m just reluctant to pay for a new pcb if it can be repaired.
Checked the lights for an error code and the only light is second from the left and its flashing but the fifth light is not on so I guess it is not E2 but something else. I suppose I will have to buy the new pcb
