Hi — Fault on this appliance is blowing the trip sometimes. (worst fault to find I think)
It did have a dodgy main oven element which I’ve changed BUT it still does it. Customer says it can do it when she uses the timer buttons and using the top oven. But if the selector switch is left on the light setting and you let it cool down it does NOT blow the trip.
I’ve been several times to do tests but can’t solve it. Customer has writen some things down but it still doesn’t give me any thoughts. See below for her comments and if anyone can help THAT WOULD BE GREAT.
CUSTOMER INFO 1 — cooker blew electrics when the main oven had reach temp of 250* after a delay of 20 secs.
we then checked setting on the clock and the following combinations
also blew the main fuse
plus by itself
alarm and minus
cook and no cook
cook and plus
no cook and plus
minus and plus
and alarm and cook
what I’m not sure of is whether these combinations are completely
arbitrary each time it’s tried
I’m going to check if the top oven has the same effect when it reaches
250 – so far if the top oven’s been on and it’s turned off everything
is ok
also if you’re checking with smeg remember that that fuse doesn’t blow
if the main oven’s been on and then it’s turned light and allowed to
cool on that setting!
will email top oven results after i’ve taken kids to school
CUSTOMER INFO 2 — the top oven didn’t blow the electrics and I also checked the clock buttons while the oven was hot and they didn’t blow it either so it’s only in relationship to the main oven
THANKS FOR ANY HELP >>>> Brett
