Hi, I cleaned our Smeg SA561X-9 oven yesterday. I removed the rear fan cover plate to clean the back wall thoroughly. On the back wall (in a area normally covered by that plate) is a small ‘cap’, which I now know is where the rotisserie arm would protrude if our oven had a rotisserie. Whilst cleaning, this cap accidentally got pushed back a bit and I cannot get it to ‘seat’ properly in the cavity. It is slightly ajar.

I know this is a daft question, but will the oven be safe to use if I cannot get that little cap/cover to fit properly? I’m paranoid about a house fire as I lost a relative in a fire.

Thanks in advance for your help/advice.

No, that won’t cause an issue and is not a fire risk.
