ParticipantHave a SMEG S200X/1 fitted on a boat. The owner has just informed me that the cooker is tripping the AC supply breaker when they go to use the oven. I haven’t looked at it yet but suspect the oven element in the first instance. Do you concur? Are spares readily available and how easy to change?
Regards
Ray

I managed to get on the boat last night and did a visual check on the fan element and the grill element. No blows. Did a couple of checks using the controls to try and narrow down the problem to an element before I have to remove the oven in “no space”. It is tripping the boat RCD not the oven/hob breaker, indicating a leak to earth or another circuit.
With power on and all oven switches off I moved the oven switch knob to “conventional oven” both top and bottom elements” are used but no fan. As soon as I moved the “oven thermostat” knob it tripped the RCD.
All switches off, power reset. moved oven switch to grill (top element only). Same result as above.
All switches off, power reset. moved oven switch to “grill heating + hot air”. RCD tripped before moving the “oven thermostat”
I am under no illusion I am going to have to remove this oven to investigate further. Obviously a diagram would be the right move but without that can anyone perhaps point to a starting point. As it is a combined micro/conv oven I want to reove only those panels necessary. I thought I had it pinned to the top element, although there are no burn marks, until the last check.

ParticipantIt is the top element, getting a 6.1Mohm reading on my Fluke to earth on the inner. Already put a request into the spares section.
