KeymasterHi,
Just replaced the door handle on my Smeg SE210X oven after breaking the plastic mounting plate(slammed the door a bit hard!). Unfortunately the elements no longer heat up and the internal light stays on as if the oven door was open. I assume there must be a switch in the door mechanism that’s broken, but I can’t find it.Mike

It’s operated by the right hand door hinge but replacing the door handle shouldn’t have affected it really.
Unless the whole door was removed and when refitting the switch has been knocked out of alignment.
Power off before going in to look please :zap:
Dave.

Many, many thanks Dave. The thin metal strip attached to the micro-switch had flipped over the top of the hinge mounting. Must have happened when I removed the door.
One other small point. Is it possible to obtain the tranfers for the symbols around the knobs and buttons. They seem to come off if you breath too heavily near them! I’m trying to avoid replacing the whole front panel.

They do and it’s a control panel only I’m afraid.
There are a few versions of SE210X can you check on the rating plate for any suffix to that model please /1 etc. and I’ll get the price for you.
Dave.

There is no suffix. The only other info that might be relevent is:
TIPO 061 MOD which precedes SE210X. Other than that, there is a number after ‘Made in Italy’ -N. 157 06183.
It’s the 10 function model with a temperature knob to the left, a small LCD screen in the middle with 6 buttons underneath and a function selector knob on the right.Mike

Gulp! I thought it might be expensive, but that’s more than I can afford. I guess that’s Smeg for you. Thanks for looking anyway and many thanks for the advice on the door switch.
Regards
Mike
