    Anyone know an alternative source for Smeg style hob thermocouples???
    (Other than Smeg itself!!!!!!!)

    Thanks for that Dave,

    Problem is slow response & prices ex Smeg & prices at Connect.

    £12 to £18 (ex Vat) for a TC is a rip-off & as you know, industry standard TC’s can’t be used.

    As usual with older Smegs, problem is one of loss of voltage at the junction of the spade terminal at the rear of the mag valve or poor T/C earth continuity to complete the circuit.

    Thanks for the suggestions, Thermuparts is just down the road.

    I must admit to strongly objecting to Connect’s prices for Smeg spares, without exception they are more than the SSP (Smeg price list).

    Masterpart carry a few Smeg spares now and at a reasonable cost most of the time, you do need to know the part number though.

    If you have one, I’ll check for you.
