    Looking at fitting a new main oven stat..on connect site advising that org diamond h, is now changed to a ego version stat (part No 818730401)…is this a stright forward change over, or have the wiring configeration changed , if so do they supply a wiring diagram.
    any advice please John.

    If its the main oven stat and not an energy regulator there is only two wires on it .

    cheers Lawerance, makes sense, was a bit conncerned as connect were advising to contact smeg for any tec info on this part.

    Have to be careful on some of these as the off position sometimes is 45 degrees out, you may also need to change the “square” it mounts on. If its a MFX5 version you should be alright though as its a later one than the one with the problems.

    Eastlmark, not quite sure what you mean by change the square, dosent the stat fit directly into switch selector, I am not sure please let me know.

    put the knob on ifi ts “out”slacken of the alan key screw in the centre & turn the knob outer round until it points to 12 oclock then retighten screw .

    sorry to confuse, I was thinking it was the stat on its own rather than the one clipped into the comm switch. the “square” is the metal plate to which the seperate type stat mounts on to.
