    Hello All,

I have an infuriating problem with my Smeg dual fuel cooker. After the oven has been on for a short while it turns itself off. The clock also goes out. It’s as if power has been cut to the cooker. The gas rings still work fine though.

After leaving it for a short while, the clock comes back on but it’s flashing, and the oven is usable again.

Does anyone have any idea why it’s doing this. Is there an automatic cutoff that cuts power to the main oven and the clock in the event of overheating or something?

The oven has been smoking a lot recently due to some spilt fat, but I’ll be cleaning it this weekend.

I’ve checked and rechecked that I’m not using an automatic cooking program. If I was, would this switch off and reset the clock? Seems a funny way to announce the end of the cooking time to me!

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Al.

    Hi
It sounds to me like a cooling problem IMO, but because the appliance is part gas, we cannot advise any further sorry.
