Smeg SUK92MFX5 Range – Fan Oven Blowing Main Fuse

Hi

I replaced the fan heating element on the above approx 18 months ago and all has been fine.

This week, whilst using the fan oven, the main fuse in the house was tripped. This happened about every 5-10 minutes or so. At the time I noticed that the oven light had also blown so have ordered a couple more of these.

However, I’m concerned that the light bulb is not the cause of the fuse being tripped as this doesn’t happen when I use just the grill in the main oven. Is this another case of the fan heating element kicking the bucket?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated!

I’d certainly start with the fan oven element – they live short, violent lives.
