    I was cleaning a client’s SMEG Telescopic hood with a slightly damp sponge and half way through, the extractor fan came to a stop. The light remained on and there was no obvious ‘bang’ or failure of parts. The model of fan was very similar to the KSET610X and the KSET61.

    I have read elsewhere that these SMEG hoods may have a speed cursor. Maybe I interfered with that?

    Any ideas what happened? I thought it might be moisture in the system?
