    Morning guys.

I have had the pleasure of being called to one of these machines, Not a bad looking machine.

But as I have never had the pleasure of playing one of these Bad Boys before, I can’t find anything obvious with it, It fills, starts to wash and then beeps with an E9 code. checked the heater and thats OK. Didn’t wanna go any further into it as the owner was there with her telescope watching my every move.

    Any clues please

    Thanks All

    E9 is overfilling.

According to the Smeg tech sheet, it’s either the pressure switch or the pcb.

I think from memory i had one of these buggers last year, problem was caused by build up of sh1t, remove filter in sump & push in a long ty-wrap into pipe from sump, wiggle it about a few times, fill & empty & this should get rid of gunge & cure problem, another one that you don’t find in the service manual !

    Thanks Guys.

After Poking my finger in the pipe from the sump and findng not a huge amount of crap, I decided to investigate further, so I pulled off the side pannel and removed the chamber to find a small amount of crap in the 3/4 inch tube running from the sump to the presure chamber, cleared everything I could find and stuck it back together and it seemed to work OK.

Just seems strange that the pipe only partialy blocked (maybe only 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d})could cause a problem, When you think about all the washing machines and Dishwashers that will quite happily work fine even if they only have a Gnats Todger of a hole left.

But it’s working, the customer is happy, and I got paid in cash. so hey i’m not complaining.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
