Smeg UK80MFX Cooker – Grill not Working

Hi there.
The grill on my Smeg UK80MFX Cooker stopped working last week.
Just before it stopped working I heard a low-pitched buzzing sound and then nothing.
The most obvious part to replace is the element, but when I felt around it (mains off) there was no obvious damage; unlike when the oven stopped there was a hole and split in the element.
What’s the best way to test the element, I have a metre?
If it’s not the element, could it be the grill temperature control switch unit as that seemed to be playing up?
When on full power the light indicator next to it would sometimes switch on and off only after 10 seconds or so.
Advice appreciated.

I think Penguin has already answered the grill query on your other thread, but to confirm, the grill element has alnost without doubt failed 🙂
