Hi, I tried to use the selector on my Smeg and it was jammed solid in the OFF position. With no choice I forced the switch to turn and nothing electrical would turn on except the clock was fine. I dismantled (and thorughly cleaned) all the panels. One of the selector switch cams had melted (far end from front – looks like Nuetral line contact). I replaced the selector switch and put a 3A fuse in plug in case of a major short somewhere – I did thoroughly check with multi first. I was hoping to switch on just the fan (<3A) but still nothing.

Can someone help with a motor that (looking from the back) is on the right hand side and half way up. It has two motor contacts plus earth and a micro-switch (m-s)to the right. It looks as the the m-s should have some sort of rod to make it switch on – this is missing and the m-s is o/c. Is (was) this some sort of thermal material that has now melted? The motor contacts are o/c so I assume this has burnt out. The part is labelled Crouzet 82888067-0 T125(deg) Moteur 220/240V 50Hz 5.5M 13/01 Bobine classe H(180(deg)) 795201047-A. Can someone ID this part for me? I assumed I only had the main oven fan (in centre) and the door cooling fan (on top panel). I guess this is the fan that comes on on the first anticlockwise position for the fan only, and fan assisted top and bottom elements. Is this micro-switch a general cutout for the whole oven and not just this fan? I have just though about that and will check it with a meter tomorrow.

    Thanks for any help, Andy.
