I have a smeg washing machine which lately has been churning out some shrunken clothes indicating that perhaps a thermostat problem of some kind?

Is this a common fault? Easy to fix myself? Or do I need a man?

    Thanks

    What washing machine?

    What sort of clothes?

    What detergent?

    What program did you use?

    Ooops sorry Smeg! Bloomin spellcheck!

I always use 40 degree wash and it appears to be shrinking most things that have been bought new for a little while now, always used Persil so no change there?

Could be a faulty thermostat then if it happens across a multitude of different fabrics.

As you haven’t recommended a uk Whitegoods part am I to assume they don’t stock the part as I can’t see it?

The thermostat is only one possibility and, without a model number, it’d be nigh on impossible to point you to the correct one anyway. 😉
