SMEG washing machine WMI16AAA error code 13

Hi there,

when we were using our washing machine (SMEG WMI16AAA) this morning, it stopped with error code 13 shown on the digital screen. there was softener left and if I chose Softener and pressed the start button from the dial it showed the same error, but it worked ok when I chose Rinses and probably the others as well ( we only tried rinses and Softener).
I found what error 13 means and it says “Malfunctioning of door block PTC” and we have no idea what it really means.
Could anyone give us advise what we should do?
If we have to fix this, does anyone have an idea of the cost?

The activation device in the door lock is faulty. You will need to replace the lock as an assembly – p/no 814490202. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

Power off if you intend to sort this for yourself.

I had the same problem with my WDI12C6 washer drier and I changed the lock successfully – BUT the E13 message and a clicking sound at the end of the cycle persists.
Can anyone else help please

Does any one have the service manule for this Smeg WDI12C6 SN:00422/1725/1
Got a customer reporting same problem E13 flashing up at the end of a wash or drying program and continues to spin slowly. Fills washes, spins and empties ok. P/N-E 157ohmes.
On test I could reproduce the fault.
Has any one come across this fault.
He said he has had the door lock changed about 6 mths ago which according to the customer cured it for a short while then returned.
There is no crease guard selected.
At a loss, any ideas
